Dominic Szambowski

  • Dominic Szambowski has a Ph.D in Education from the University of Sydney and has held senior educational leadership roles at a variety of higher educational institutes in Australia, Malaysia, USA, and Switzerland. Before joining Swiss Hotel Management School in 2020, he was CEO and President of the International College of Management, Sydney, leading the team through a major transformation. His previous roles have included Vice Chancellor of BERJAYA University College of Hospitality in Kuala Lumpur, President and CEO of INTI International College, Subang Jaya, Malaysia, and Executive Dean, Hospitality, Culinary Arts and Tourism for the INTI Group.
Mark Urech

  • Mark Urech has more than 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, holding various leadership positions for prominent brands, including Radisson Blue, Hilton, and Gate Gourmet. He has a Master’s degree in Education and an MBA. He joined Swiss Hotel Management school in 2010 as a programme leader and lecturer, taking up his position as Assistant Dean in 2015. He is dedicated to curriculum design and constantly improving the educational experience for students.
Roel Brinkman

  • After years of holding various managerial food and beverage positions at leading hotel brands, Roel Brinkman joined Swiss Hotel Manangement School in 2016 as a lecturer in the Hospitality and Sustainability Masters programmes. He became Post Graduate Programmes Manager in 2020. Roel has a Master’s degree in Service Management along with a Postgraduate Degree in Higher Education. He is an accredited Green Globe auditor and spearheads Swiss Hotel Management School’s sustainable development-related teaching initiatives.
Andrea Leuenberger

  • Lifelong Learning Program Manager, Leysin
  • After managing and leading Swiss Hotel Management School’s Master of International Business programme for six years, Andrea Leuenberger is currently involved in developing the lifelong learning offering. A Swiss “hôtelière diplomée”, she holds an Executive MBA from EHL Lausanne, a Master’s degree in Education, and a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Design Thinking. She has held executive positions and training and development mandates at hospitality establishments in major cities across three continents, and speaks five languages.
Patrick Taffin d'Heursel

  • Programme Manager Bachelor of Arts Hospitality Pathway, Leysin
  • Holding a Master’s degree in Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management, Patrick Taffin d’Heursel has been guiding Swiss Hotel Management School students since 2012, encouraging their development and assisting them in reaching their full potential. He has 20 years of international leadership experience in the hospitality and spa industry for prominent brands, including Ritz-Carlton, Six Senses and Relais & Chateau. He is fluent in five languages.
Mikhail Romanenko

  • Mikhail Romanenko joined Swiss Hotel Management School in 2015 and has extensive hospitality industry experience in food and beverage, rooms division, and sales. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management and Hospitality Management, a Master’s degree in International Hospitality Management, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education. He is an Apple-certified teacher and EdTech aficionado, and is fluent in Russian, English and French.
Kathryn Medico

  • Kathryn Medico is a journalist, author and lecturer from the United States. As a former manager at Ritz-Carlton, she shares her ‘real-world’ experiences in the hospitality industry with students. As a writer on issues of juvenile justice, her book A Perversion of Justice is currently in its fifth printing. She is also an international conference speaker on the rights of children. She is a graduate of University of Derby and University of Florida.
Ludovic Cosandey

  • Having headed up event planning and financial management at Disneyland & Resorts in Paris, France, Ludovic Cosandy has extensive experience organising large-scale events and managing staff from different countries. He is fluent in English, French, German, and Spanish.
