STEP ONE

Apply to SHMS online

  1. Register your application on the adjacent form and click “Apply Now”.
  2. You will receive an email shortly to confirm your personal details.
  3. Create a password for our application portal.
  4. Log into the application portal to continue your application online.
  5. You will need to provide copies of the following documents*:
    • High school or university transcript, diploma, and /or certificate
    • Proof of English proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, or equivalent)
    • Copy of your passport identification page
    • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
    • A motivation letter expressing your interest in SHMS
    • Letters of reference (if applicable)**
  6. Click the button “Submit Your Application” and we will send you a confirmation email that includes a link to pay your CHF 75 application fee.
  7. Once we receive your application fee payment, one of our admissions team members will be in touch with you shortly.
     

*Please note, all documents must be translated into English by an official translator recognized by the Swiss authorities in your country. Translated copies are accepted, however, original documents may be requested.


**Letters of reference are required for students transferring from another university and/or to validate their previous and applicable work experience.

STEP TWO

Review and acceptance process

  1. Once your application is complete and your fee has been received, our team will process your application and you will receive a provisional acceptance letter within one week.
  2. If you have met the admission requirements for your desired program and have displayed strong motivation, you will be sent a provisional letter of acceptance.
  3. If you wish to proceed with the application process, you will need to confirm your attendance and secure your enrollment by paying the confirmation fee of CHF 3'000. This fee must be paid within 30 days of receiving the letter of acceptance and will be applied toward your first term fees.
  4. Unfortunately, we cannot issue a refund should you wish to withdraw your enrollment after paying the CHF 3’000 confirmation fee. However, we do offer cancelation insurance for an additional fee CHF 290, should you wish to secure a spot, but change your mind.

STEP THREE

Apply for a visa

  1. After you have completed your enrollment payment, you will receive an official enrollment letter by email.
  2. Once you receive the letter, you will need to apply for a relevant visa (as applicable). Please allow ample time for this process as it varies from country to country, based on requirements. The typical processing time is up to 12 weeks for students from non-EU countries.
  3. Once you have received your visa, you will need to pay the remaining balance of the first term fees, which must be received six weeks before your start date. Any special room requests – which are offered on a first-come, first-served basis – can only be confirmed once full payment is received.

 

Visa requirements

You do not need a student visa if you are a Swiss citizen, a current resident of Switzerland with a valid residential permit, a citizen of a country in the European Union (EU), from a European Free Trade Association (EFTA) member state, or coming from Brunei, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Australia, or New Zealand.

For students from all other countries, you will need to apply for a student visa at the nearest Swiss Embassy in your country of residence.
