How to Apply to SHMS

Applications to study at SHMS may be made using our online application form.

Step 1:  Application

Complete the enrollment form and submit it together with the following documents:

  • Transcripts of your previous education
  • Motivation letter
  • TOEFL, IELTS, Oxford Online Placement Test                                                 or equivalent English test results
  • Curriculum Vitae (Resume)
  • Work Reference Letters (if available)
  • Copy of valid passport
  • 4 passport size photos
Note:  All documents must be in English with translations officially stamped.  Failure to provide all documents may delay the admissions process.

Step 2:  Provisional Acceptance

If your application is successful and the requested course is still available, you will receive a Provisional Acceptance within one week.
At this time you will also receive an invoice for a deposit payment, due within 4 weeks
•    CHF 3’300.- including cancellation insurance
•    CHF 3’000.- without cancellation insurance
Your place on the course cannot be guaranteed until SHMS has received the deposit payment.

Step 3:  Confirmation

Official confirmation will be sent as soon as we have received your deposit payment.  The confirmation is needed to apply for your student visa.

Important – The balance of your school fees must reach SHMS’s accounts no later than 6 weeks before the start of semester. SHMS does not guarantee your course place if payments are not received on time.  Special room requests can only be confirmed once full-fees have been received by the school.

Step 4:  Visa Application

For many countries outside of Europe, students must apply for an entry visa to Switzerland.  This process may take up to 12 weeks.  Please check with your local Swiss Embassy.
