How to Apply to SHMS
Applications to study at SHMS may be made using our online application form.
Step 1: Enrolment Form
Fill in the enrolment form and send it together with the following documents to our local representative or to SHMS:
- High school diploma or transcript of your previous education
- Proof of English proficiency
- Copy of passport
- Curriculum vitae
- Motivation letter
- Work references (if available)
- 6 passport size pictures (3x4 cm)
NOTE: all documents must be translated to English and officially stamped.
Step 2: Provisional Acceptance
If your application is successful and the requested course is still available, we will send the Provisional Acceptance within one week.
The deposit should then be paid within four weeks:
- CHF 3,300.- if cancellation insurance is required
- CHF 3,000.- if cancellation insurance is not required
If you receive the Provisional Acceptance six weeks or less prior to the commencement date, full fees should be transferred immediately. If the deposit is not paid on time, the course place will no longer be guaranteed.
Step 3: Confirmation and Visa Application
The confirmation will be sent as soon as we have received the deposit payment. This document is needed to apply for the student visa.
Important: the balance of your school fees must reach the school’s accounts no later than six weeks before arrival. SHMS is usually fully booked and does not guarantee the course place any longer if the payments are not received on time. Single, deluxe and superior deluxe rooms are confirmed only once full fees have been received.
For many countries outside Europe, it is necessary for the student to make an application for an entry visa to Switzerland. This procedure may take up to 12 weeks. Please check with the local Swiss Embassy.
