“My time at SHMS went by really fast and it seemed that very quickly I was standing in the queue to receive my Bachelor of Arts Degree!

After graduation, I began a cross- training at the Kempinski Palace Portorož, Slovenia. After a few weeks, I was offered the position of shift leader in the Room Service department. This service requires a lot of attention to detail and patience and opened new doors for job opportunities. After a few months I was sent to St Moritz and the Kempinski Grand Hotel Des Bains. I had the opportunity to work in the Kids Club where I had to organize and create the daily activities. This gave me an opportunity to be creative and to develop my organizational skills.

I believe that all the hard times, stressful situations and responsibilities, have contributed to help me define and develop myself as a business orientated individual.

This cross-training helped me to better understand the hospitality industry. After this life experience, I have decided to bring my education to a higher level have enrolled to do my Masters in International Hospitality Management from September 2012. I believe that this will create even more opportunities for my career in the future.

The experiences I had and the people that I have met in SHMS will always be unforgettable and have made a big difference to my life. We (the students) became like a big family and that is why it was very hard to leave SHMS behind. I am still in touch with several friends and will do my best to keep it that way.

There is still a lot to learn but I would like to thank the teachers at SHMS who helped me in understanding how to apply theory into practice. I appreciate it !“
